OUR CORE VALUES AND PHILOSOPHY

  1. Provide support for local independent storytellers/filmmakers.
Whatever stage of production a filmmaker’s story is at, Beckett Arts is committed to providing the resources it takes to help that storyteller see their project come alive.

  2. Provide resources that support and enrich the educational experience. Beckett Arts is committed to our community involvement by supporting the next generation of filmmakers and artists. We do so by working collaboratively with local schools and universities by providing scholarships, internships, field experiences as well as work placement opportunities upon graduation. We seek representation across a wide range of traits, backgrounds and experiences to create a vibrant, inclusive work environment.

  3. Combining all of our core values, our goal is to highlight both emotional and educational stories that are produced in Chattanooga and by Chattanooga filmmakers to be distributed globally.

The core belief of our organization is simple. Everything we do and how we operate focuses on enriching the lives of everyone in our world through the power of inspirational storytelling. That’s our mission. That’s our core belief and philosophy. Why do we do this? We do this because it is our passion to pass down these skill to the next generation of dreamers; the next generation of artisans.

  • We do this for our fellow artist and storytellers. We live in a world where the everyday average person is saturated with numerous amounts of streaming platforms and within those streaming platforms there are 1000s of titles to choose from.  As an independent filmmaker, it can be daunting and costly to try and get your work distributed globally and if that artist does manage to get their work distributed, how are they able to make sure it doesn’t get lost in the vast sea of content. We work with the filmmakers to make sure their work is seen. We provide production assistance, distribution assistance, educational assistance. We provide both scholarships and internships to students. We work with the universities and provide film screenings and lectures. We provide the real work experience needed so that both students and professionals are set up for success in getting their work out for the world to see. Both students and professionals, who are embraced and guided by the Beckett Arts Project, are given real-world opportunities to film on location around the country. They are given the experiences and connections they need to succeed. Film projects chosen to be produced by the Beckett Arts Project, are filmed and produced in Chattanooga as an endeavor to build a driving film economy to help keep work local rather than lose it to the Atlanta area film studios.

  • We believe in working collaboratively. We believe in partnerships. We believe that in order to truly make a difference in Chattanooga, we must work with other video production companies in Chattanooga to utilize resources for both professional and education purposes. We must work with local film festivals and support our local and visiting filmmakers. We must work and partner with local universities and high school. We must partner with our fellow arts nonprofit organizations. Most importantly, we believe in building bridges and relationships. This is the only true pathway to success.

OUR VALUES:

  • Produce films and series to deepen our understanding of difficult issues.

Ways we are living into our mission and core values.
